Obituary for Pawdog ‘Pots’ Cantwell
June
20, 2007
Pawdog Cantwell ‘Pots’ passed away peacefully on June 20, 2007 at 3:55 PM Pacific Daylight time.
Pots was the loving and faithful companion of Kate
Cantwell for the last decade or more of her life and they were joined by Ron
Menninga for the last few years.
Pots was rescued by Kate from a homeless shelter under very fortuitous circumstances and immediately bonded and accepted her as companion, caregiver and friend. Pots had boundless energy and was constantly getting into all sorts of mischief but made up for it all by saving Kate’s life on at least one occasion. She never backed down from any thing except the occasional cat that refused to follow the rules and run. Pots was seldom seen without a tennis ball in her mouth for most of her life and was constantly begging the nearest person to throw it for her.
She declined rapidly over the last year of her life and the development of a cancerous tumor in her leg dictated her demise. She had a long and happy life that is estimated to have been between 18 and 21 years.
Pots will be buried in the backyard of her last home at Maple Ave. where she will be shaded by the rose bushes and watched over by chickens, cats, birds and whoever wishes to visit her.
She will be sorely missed.
